Registrant Requirements for .EU Domains

Registrants can be any individual, organisation or company who meets the requirements:

  • Be a company who has their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community
  • Be an organisation established within this Community without prejudice to the application of national law
  • Be a natural person resident within the EU Community

Exclusions for .EU Domains

.EU domains have a blocked / reserved list of domain names that cannot be registered.

Renewal of .EU Domains

.EU domains must be renewed with the current registrar prior to expiry date.
Allowing a .EU Domain Name to reach expiry date will involve downtime and additional 'recovery' costs

Transfer of .EU Domains

.EU domain can be transferred between EUrid Accredited Registrars from 30 days after registration upto 30 days before expiry.
Transfers have a cost and automatically renew the domain for another year
Transfers require the domain to be unlocked and need a valid EPP transfer code
